Write for us

We welcome clear, original proposals that help readers understand a sport: a rule made legible, a role explained, a tactical choice unpacked, or a comparison that answers a genuine question. Send proposals through the Contact page and tell us what the reader will be able to understand afterward.

What makes a strong pitch

Choose one focused question and explain why it is useful to a curious reader. Tell us which sport and context your idea covers, the main point you would make, and how you would keep the explanation clear for someone new to the subject. A working title is helpful, but a complete draft is not required for a proposal.

Original, careful work

We are interested in original writing that explains rather than assumes, separates facts from opinion, and avoids inflated claims. Please identify any relevant interests or relationships that could affect a piece. Do not send confidential information, and do not present personal experience as proof of a general rule.

Send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your proposed subject, the reader question it answers and a short outline. Sending a pitch does not guarantee publication; we will consider whether it fits the site and its readers.

Our approach

A score is only part of the story.

Notice the rules, roles and decisions behind each moment, and a match becomes easier to follow. We explain the game without assuming you already know its language.
